Shawn McGinniss has been shooting for over five years now, beginning with his undergraduate studies in photography and psychology at Pace University. His work at Pace has been featured in LEGEND Yearbook (2006), the Fine Arts Department Annual Juried Student Art Exhibition (2006), and in APHROS, an annual art and literary magazine (2005, 2006). Recent work has also been featured on the covers of two Performing Arts Department playbills: Marat/Sade (2006) and Diary of Anne Frank (2007).
style
Shawn shoots weddings and events using a mix of contemporary-portrait and photojournalistic styles. He strives to capture many details and special moments commonly lost in the fast-moving action of the day's events. His critical eye for detail and use of creative photographic techniques allow him to capture a wedding and present it as an artful, visual story.
On his personal time, Shawn enjoys shooting landscapes and post-industrial cityscapes, emotive portraiture, street photography, and conceptual imagery. He shoots in film and digital, depending on the project and desired results, but always enjoys the chance to print in a darkroom.
